Date Plan: Assembly - 4

Kaoru: (Ooh, looks like some amusement park pics are being uploaded to Wholehands right now.)

(I see. So Mitsuru-kun made good use of the fact that he’s a mischievous high school boy with a date where he wears his school uniform— That’s pretty much what I expected; seems like the Ra*bits members thought that up for him, huh?) 

(Mitsuru-kun was pretty worried too, so I’m glad he seems to have gotten past his idea block.)

Fufufu. I totally nailed it suggesting that idea to him, if I do say so myself ♪

Mitsuru-kun doesn’t know anything about dates, so for him, getting advice from his friends was just perfect— 

A plan like this should make for a day full of brightness and fun.

Well. I’m done with practice too, so I’ll head home and just chill...♪ 

Chiaki: Looks like you’re doing alright, eh Hakaze?

Kaoru: Ooh. Moricchi? Did you have practice too?

Chiaki: Mhm. Seems like the interdepartmental project also includes recording a song with choreography.

Since the contents of the date plan have mostly taken shape, I figure that I should focus on the practices now.

Kaoru: Really~? So you were practicing on your own? You know you could have invited me, right?

Chiaki: Hahaha. That’s my line ♪ 

Really, it’s like you weren’t even worried the other day. I can tell you’ve regained your confidence.

Kaoru: Mhm. I felt a lot of pressure, thanks to this being the first interdepartmental project and all. But I feel better now thanks to you.

I got to advise Mitsuru-kun to get guidance from friends who know him well— like the members of Ra*bits— to think up an idea.

I was able to think that up because we hung out, Moricchi. Thank you.

...I think this is where the last bit of real work comes in...

Chiaki: Hm? Is there still something you’re worried about?

Kaoru: Just count on me, okay ♪ It’s just a few lingering worries from before, so.

Chiaki: Hm…? Is there some sort of hidden meaning in that statement?

If there’s anything you’re still worried about, I’ll help you. Don’t hesitate to come to me, Hakaze.

Kaoru: Hmm. That’s not it. Well, it’s not like it’s anything worth hiding, but— 

Niki: So you two were here, huh?

This sucks, this really sucks! I wanna ask you something~!

Chiaki: Oh...?

Kaoru: Eh? What’s wrong, Shiina-kun? Weren’t you doing fine until now?

Niki: Yeah. Thanks to you guys, I was doing fine, but… Rinne-kun took one look at my date plan, and said that it wasn’t interesting at all!

Chiaki: Hmm. That Amagi Rinne— He made all sorts of mess with Crazy:B, but he was a clever guy, wasn’t he?

Niki: Yeah. Rinne-kun always just leaves things up to chance, so for him to nitpick was a huge shock to me.

But when I asked him to look it over, he told me, “This stuff’s so boring, goin’ to the slots would be way more fun~” and stuff like that.

Can you guys take a look at my plan and tell me what you think?

I mean, obviously I don’t believe all the stuff Rinne-kun said, but something’s been bothering me about it, y’know?

Well, y’know, I thought something that felt like a multi-course meal at a restaurant would be good, but...

That’s just why the flavor it’s got is a lot like home… I wanna go for a flavor that’s a little different.

Chiaki: Umm. I don’t get the analogy you’re going for here.

Niki: Oh, okay~ Well, in other words, Rinne-kun pointed it out to me like this: “This kind of date’s got no spontaneity, so it’s boring.”

Kaoru: Spontaneity…

I get it. That’s just what I expected.

Chiaki: Just what you expected...?

Hakaze. Could this be what you meant when you said “the last bit of real work”?

Kaoru: Mhm. That’s it.

Taking your friend's opinions into account makes it so your date plan starts to take shape. But just that by itself won’t do you any good.

Chiaki: What are you talking about? Don’t tell me you’re saying there’s still more to do!

Kaoru: That is what I’m saying. The thing that we were asked for out of this project was to create a simulated date with an idol that people could enjoy.

Chiaki: Ah. That seems like the right way to think about it. Plus, we should be able to meet that demand.

Kaoru: Yeah. It’s just like you said, Moricchi— I feel like we’ll be able to satisfy them with where it is now. We’ve all discussed this a lot after all, yeah?

But I also feel like we’ve got to take it more seriously, because this is ES’s first interdepartmental project.

If we just finish up our projects here, every project after this won’t be any more than what’s necessary— 

Also, I feel like we can’t really say that the interdepartmental project was a success if we don’t go beyond everyone’s expectations— that includes Anzu-chan and the magazine staff too, not just the readers.

So… I want you to let me give you one last suggestion.

We’ve got dates that suit each and every one of our personalities now, and they aren’t out of our comfort zones either.

So I was wondering how you guys feel about including something out of the ordinary that would make their hearts skip a beat...

Niki: So that’s the final push— something out of the ordinary?

Is this basically going to cover for the lack of spontaneity Rinne-kun pointed out in my date? 

Chiaki: I see. It’s just like a monster that’s been defeated becoming huge and fighting a Chogokin1 robot!

Kaoru: No, no, this is completely different from sentai heroes, okay?

If you look at it with that much positivity, I guess they could be similar, but otherwise…?

Niki: But did you already know that my date plan lacked spontaneity? I wish you’d told me about it from the start, y’know~?

Kaoru: Ahaha. Sorry about that~

To tell you the truth, it wasn’t because of me that this idea was put into my head, it was— 

It was all thanks to you guys, “Date Plan Idea Squad” and Anzu-chan, and your earnest effort.

At one point, it felt like I was close to regressing to my past self, when I’d draw a boundary between me and everyone else and put on my cool act.

But I really don’t want that to ever happen.

— Well. From here on out is the finale, huh?

Strategizing well is my specialty. I don’t make the fans of UNDEAD’s hearts beat for nothing, after all!

So just relax and follow my lead. I’ll make sure I add in an extra special little something to make everyone’s individual charm shine in their date plan...☆
